Cybercriminals are upping their game.
Amidst the ongoing global pandemic, an immense number of people are working from home and are more digitally connected than ever. In light of this new era, cybercriminals are increasing their attacks, both in frequency and scope. Indeed, the FBI recently reported cyberattack complaints are up to as many as 4,000 a day, representing a 400% increase.
Given the leap in malware attacks, data breaches and extortion attempts, it is more important than ever to trust your data is protected from the most sophisticated methods of intrusion. In fact, the longer COVID-19 remains, the more likely banks and financial institutions will incur added risk due to ongoing threats and fraudulent activity.
At Trinity, we get it. While the US has implemented a complex patchwork of laws, we believe data privacy and security is also an imperative, fundamental right. Our top concern is ensuring your business is safe and secure. Having achieved the rigorous System and Organizational Controls (SOC) attestation in June of 2019 and our renewal earlier this year, we recognize our responsibility to securely manage our clients’ data, whether information is transmitted, stored, or managed in the cloud.
What SOC 2 Compliance Entails
The SOC audits are a set of compliance standards developed by the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA), a member network of more than 400,000 international CPAs. Designed to examine policies, procedures and internal controls of an organization, these audits test and report on these standards to certify compliance.
SOC 2 audits are conducted by a licensed CPA firm’s independent auditor. These required regular audits and the extensive ongoing exercises extend to all services an organization provides and ensure all customer data is secure and protected.
Through this process, Trinity added our own compliance manager to manage the process and work with our internal staff.
Why is SOC 2 So Important?
For security-conscious businesses, SOC 2 compliance is a minimal requirement, as its role in securing data privacy, integrity, and confidentiality cannot be overstated. At Trinity, we believe your data security and safety should not be taken lightly. Attaining the SOC 2 attestation is a promise that we make, and we are proud to remain able to provide this top tier service to our customers.
